Aims&Objectives

The main aim and objective for my magazine is for the Disco Genre to become well known and successful like the previous years such as in the 70's and 80's, as well as wanting the magazine to become successful, we would also want it to become profitable so therefore the magazine company would gain money and publicity.  Another aim and objective of the Disco magazine is for it to entertain the readers which would increase the profits and would engage with the ideas and knowledge behind it, by providing knowledge and understanding it allows the readers to stay engaged and interested and because of this is one of the main aims of the magazine is for the magazine is to interest the reader, another aim is for us also try and entertain them through the age groups disco music automatically is linked though eldely people such as people born in the 80's therefore another aim we are trying to create for the magazine is to allow all different age groups to become interested in Disco music and to make it more relevant in our lives.

We are trying to promote the genre as now days in North London the main music genres are associated with rap, grind and hip hop, therefore disco does not come under any of those categories. Because of this we aim to promote this genre so therefore there would be a variety of music based in North London so therefore younger generations to older generations will be able to see the comparison between one another.  As well as that another aim and objective of the magazine is to receive this genre of music and to engage the younger audience because of this aim to find a way of making this music applicable to all age groups, automatically when we think of the genre of disco we think of how old and outdated this type of music is so therefore the automatic response to disco music would go.

Genre x2

I have chosen to base my music magazine on the genre of Disco.  Disco music was more relevant in the 80's and because of this now days young people in North London would not usually listen to disco music where as more elderly people would as it is a memory of their youth. The music magazine I will create will entertain the reader by the colours used in the magazine, the contrast against one another is fascinating for the reader to look at therefore because of the contrast between one another entertains the reader it will grab  their attention as well as that we see that Disco music is associated with colourful outfits and interesting fashion ideas and because of this the Genre is unique in a way as the clothing is one of a kind, because of this we can see that the Disco Genre will be able to engage readers and customers through the clothing which resembles unique disco style. As well as that the knowledge and writing inside the magazine entertains the readers as it provides background knowledge of previous artists classified in the Disco Genre for instance Aretha Franklin because of this it engages the reader as it takes them back to their youth.

In this magazine I would include images at random places throughout the magazine with writing beside it around the images, this would enhance the impression about disco music as it is not just clear but is unexpected and creative therefore this links back to the title to the magazine...

Audience

In this magazine article there are two different types of audiences either primary which is where the majority of people watch and listen to secondary where it is less likely to be listen to and read by these sort of people.  The main primary target audience would be middle aged to the older generation mainly aged 60-80, this is mainly because of the outdated clothing and styles, this is also because many people with the range of this age group would be the primary target audience would be as in their youth this would be the main genre of music for them, as well as that people interested in this genre of music would be from a middle working class with a NRS of B this is because they would be able to listen to this sort of music.  The secondary target audience would be people aged 10-20 or even younger, kids from this age group would be the secondary target audience because they would not originally be listening to this genre of music as in their mind it is classified as outdated and mundane, as new genres of music would have been published throughout their lift span.  In this magazine we can clearly see the divide with the ages and the genre of music which differ between each of the age groups.

Distribution

Automatically when making this magazine we had to come to terms with the fact that the genre of disco is outdated and not modern, because of this when deciding if the magazine should either be a hardcopy where the idea of Disco music would fit in more with its ideology of an old and run down genre of music or on social media people could read and see the contrast between the old and new thoughts about this genre of music this is because as we know social media is more relevant in our daily lives and people are now said to be on their social 24/7.  When deciding if the magazine article should be hardcopy or on social media, I had come to terms with the fact that it should be published onto the social media and should be distributed online.   This is because it allows the viewer and readers to see the comparison between old and new and the way which they link into one another.  Because of this it allows people reading about disco music online to understand that it is less outdated than thought and for them to have a chance to listen to it.

Content

When reading the disco magazine it should mainly be focused on three main things such as the music and fashion trends.  The genre of disco was most popular in the late 70's to early 80's, these three things were the main attraction about this genre of music this was because colour stood out to people.  Therefore because of this the content of the magazine is mainly focusing on the popular aspect of the that era.

Price

The price for a disco magazine would be at a rate of £2.50, this is because we have the understanding that Disco music is not as popular as before and therefore because of this the magazine would not be as much as a modern and popular.  Furthermore the rate of the magazine isn't as low as expected as many people would keep this magazine as a memory or souvenir therefore for the near future.  As time carries on the price may deprecate slightly if the purchase of the magazine isn't as high as expected and therefore by decreeing the price slightly it might allowed the local customers to have a higher chance of buying this magazine.  Compared to her magazines such as rock and grind which have a higher demand their price would be higher than disco as it is outdated.

Resources and
Personnel

In this disco genre magazine we would need a model and a photographer well as photoshop, this is because whilst the photographer would dress the models in costumes the main approach of this is to add a modern contrast onto this genre the 70's instead of a modern photograph would not interest the customer as much.  As well as that we would also need to use photoshop as this would incense the colour and contrast, photoshop also allows us to edit and add different aspects to the image than before and all this grabs the readers attention.  When using props and other equipment we would also want to keep the first impression about the genre of disco and keeping a strong focus and not change that impression which we automatically have.
